Back in July I attended a still life workshop at Noah Layne Academy of Realist Art. I was feeling very rusty as it had been several months since I’d painted with oils and nearly two and a half years since I’d done a still life workshop.
I almost didn’t go because I’d been struggling with a lot of fatigue during pregnancy and wasn’t sure I’d be able to keep with with the class. I was very kindly accommodated and was able to paint at a snail’s pace while also taking many breaks. I’m so glad I did it! It reminded me of how much I love oil painting and what an inspiration it can be to take a class, paint alongside other artists, and learn from a master.
I love my little horse painting and am excited to hang it in our nursery to celebrate our year of the horse baby. The two bunny and bottle pieces below are from a similar workshop I did back in 2024.
